This was a very enjoyable find in the Inwood area. We were just visiting in the area. They have quite a good wine list for a small, casual cafe, and are willing to bring you a taste if you’re not sure what to order. They seem to have a lot of regulars eating there, which is a good sign. We saw several deliveries go out. It is larger than it looks – there’s an area in back. Our food was very good and well priced.
I love the ambiance – cozy, dim, welcoming; I know I can come here with anyone and carry on a conversation where we can both hear each other without raising our voices. There’s a great patio outback which I love to visit almost every time I go. It’s just a great atmosphere in general; good for friends, and good for a date night. I love the service- always friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, I’ve never had bad service here. Saved the best for last. I love the food AND the desserts. Everything I’ve ordered is always well-seasoned, and the portions are generous without being excessive. I recently tried the banana crepe, AMAZING 🙂 I have been going here for several years, and without fail have had only positive experiences. I moved back to the neighborhood and this is my favorite go to spot, whenever I have friends over who haven’t been here I make it a point to introduce them to this spot.
A cute neighborhood cafe that’s great for brunch. I love their outdoor seating area that is at the back of the restaurant. There’s shade so you can sit comfortably over brunch with friends. I got their salmon benedict and the BF got the huevos rancheros. Both were delicious. Perfect with their fresh squeezed orange juice. I want to come back to try their burger dishes. Looked pretty good to me!
Garden Cafe is an outstanding, quaint little cafe at the intersection of Isham and Broadway in Inwood, a 20 minute subway ride from Time Square (A Train). All their salad dressings are GF, they have an awesome GF pasta dish in the menu. They even have a GF dessert!! I had the Green Salad with Pineapple Polenta and Roasted Pineapple dressing. The entree was GF Penne Pasta with spinach and roasted red peppers with garlic and olive oil. It was an outstanding dish. I highly recommend this place. The service was great. The non-GF members in my group also loved their food. We visited Garden Cafe while visiting NY from Texas.
I highly recommend a visit here!
